If those were my choices I would definetely pick Satellite Beach. It's a nicer family environment, and I would much rather live by the ocean then in Melbourne.

I'd suggest coming here and looking around. Maybe rent first. There are advantages and disadvantages to living beachside, and there are advantages and disadvantages to living in Melbourne. The towns here tend to blend together, so focus more on areas and neighborhoods you like rather than paying too much attention to which city it is. For instance, there are some really, really nice parts of Melbourne, and there are some parts of Satellite Beach that are dumps. There are some parts of Melbourne that are nasty and some parts of Satellite Beach that are fantastic. It will really come down to what you and your family are looking for and how much you're willing to spend.
