I live in northeastern Pennsylvania and we have a rather large Taiwania tree growing on our property that my wife just doesn't like.
I have read that this tree is sought after in Taiwan and China for building temples and for use in coffin making, but the lumber is now scarce. So if I do get the tree cut down I don't want the lumber wasted.
First of all, is it true that the lumber from this tree still has a religious significance in 2021?
Second, how would I get in touch with a Buddhist community that's thinking of building or remodeling a temple to ask if they'd be interested in the lumber?
