Hi,

In Vietnam I could get one of these easily within a 10 minute drive from my house, but here in the states I can't even seem to find someplace I can buy it online.

I want to buy my wife a statue for our new house in the USA. A Buddha sitting cross-legged with one hand in his lap palm up and the other holding a lotus flower about head height. About 12" wide/deep and about 24" to 36" tall. It will be kept inside, but it should be made of good materials.

Does anyone know of a good mail order shop?

Thanks!

It is very difficult to find Thai Buddhas, but of the red tape in shipping them out of the country. Oddly enough, I started going to two of the big antique malls here in Phoenix, and OFTEN find extremely nice Buddha statues. Must be such antique malls in Baltimore/DC area. Just a thought. Good luck.

Thanks, we're in New Mexico, I'm not sure how I might change that in my information area. El Paso is probably closest to us, maybe I can find one there.

Thanks!

India is a land of Budhdha and you can find many local artisans making beautiful Lord Budhdha statues from various materials like clay and metal. You cna either visit any Indian arts and craft website who sell locally made Lord Budhdha statues. You can even contact any local sculptors groups too for this. The major difference between the statues made by Indian artists and Far Eastern artists is the facial features of Budhdha. Indian articles tend to create normal eyes and short ears while far eastern artists like those from Thailand or Vietnam or Japan, etc. make thin eyes and long ears statue.

Which one do you prefer is your choice though.
