We're Heading To Niagara Falls For A Family Vacation. Wondering Where To Stay On The American Side. We're Looking To Be Close To Everything Since We're Not Taking Our Car. Any Feedeback Would Be Great! Thanks!

This is late probably. I plan to stay at Seneca Spa & Casino. Looks good. I'll be there the weekend of 8-17 through 8/21. If it's not too late for your vacation plans, I can report back. Just let me know.
I know, Casino and children don't go together. It just looked like a better quality hotel to me than the others I saw. I hate cheap motel like hotels, though that's all I can afford. But Seneca looks great! So, I'll be paying for it.
Best one is the Sherton on the Candian side and right on the falls Took my kids there back in 96 and having a room with a view right over the falls Was so great according to them and everything within walking distance Beautiful on that side, The NY side stinks, sorry to say Have fun
If you take one step (no exaggeration) outside the (small) tourist zone on the U.S. side, you'll be deeply immersed in the sad, sad city which is NF, NY. I agree, stay on the Canadian side. If you're not bringing a car, that's no problem. The 'People Mover' System will get you to all the attractions and the hotels. If you're absolutely determined to stay on the U.S. side, I suggest you walk with your family across the border to spend your days - there's a great pedestrian walkway over the river which gives a great view of the falls, and it leads right into the thick of the action on the Canadian side. Much more for the kids to do! Bring picture ID for the adults and birth certificates for the kids - passports if you got them - but not mandatory.
The NY side has the Cave of the Winds...I highly recommend that. Sadly, that is the only thing I can recommend on the US side. And you couldn't pay me enough to stay in a US side hotel in Niagara Falls.
The American side of Niagara Falls isn't commercial. It doesn't have cheesy haunted houses and expensive arcades. It has more natural parks, beautiful scenery. You can literally put your feet into the water that will be going over the falls in about 200 feet. We have Three Sisters Islands, the Whirlpool Jetboat, Devils Hole, the Cave of the Winds. Fantastic resturants such as Michaels on Pine Avenue, The Top of the Falls Resturant. I hate people complaining about the American side of Niagara Falls. It does not have the gigantic eyesores that ruin what the falls is really about. I always felt that people come to one of the NATURAL wonders of the world to see it in it's fantastic NATURAL beauty. Not to be forced to look at 300 feet towers, awful casinos, and pathetic attractions.
