By contrast, it only takes $61,000 to buy the average priced home for sale today in Niagara Falls, N.Y.

Apparently, what the real estate people are counting on is that a lot of people will have forgotten Love Canal.

LaSalle and DeVeaux are a couple of nice areas of the city. It could be better than what it is though.

With the rest of money you save you might need a gun or two there.

No, the crime is not that bad and there are some decent neighborhoods. But the huge amounts of toxic waste in the area would make me think twice about living in Niagara County, let alone the city.

The nice parts of the city cost a lot more than $61K. Plus, it is old housing and high maintenance. Deceptive article

Golly. They were practically giving away new homes constructed on the toxic dump known as Love Canal. I'd say that would lower the average home price city wide. Niagara Falls is Camden,NJ with waterfalls. A crime ridden cesspool.
