WNY Rocks! I moving back after a 20 year leave. You can't beat the people, scenery, food and real estate values. The schools are great as well, if you have kids.

Clarence, Lancaster, Alden. We are a bit farther east, a bit more rural. The cost of living is higher in Clarence, but for what you want to pay, you can get a new home in Lancaster! Clarence Center is yuppie, Clarence Hollow is nice, lancaster village is 1890s to 1950s town. Lovely homes. Alden is a neat town, small but "old fashioned".
W/any of them, you can drive to Depew and hop on the Thruway and be on the 290 to Tonawanda in a short time.
