So, I recently bought a home in Kaisertown, and after living in Riverside for the better part of 3 decades, it's quite the change.

What are the area's "highlights"? I know about Wiechek's fish fry. And, I see some shops there on Clinton. What else should know about there? Places to shop, auto mechanics, etc etc.

Nice That's even within walking distance of the new home. Should make for a great stop on Sundays!

I always liked the Kaisertown area, it seemed pretty safe, and you are a block from west seneca. There is plenty of shopping and retail all within a short drive.

What are some of the "Must Go To's" there?

I lived in Kaisertown 25 years ago. Glad to hear it's still a decent place to live.

Wiechec's has some of the best bar/lounge food in Buffalo, I recommend it all the time.

Try Desi's on Bailey and Clinton if you really want a classic Buffalo dive bar with CHEAP food.

Don't waste your time going to to Bowl Inn on Bailey. It's gross and the food is terrible. Even for me. The pizza I ordered there a few months ago was THE WORST I've had in my entire life and I'm not exaggerating.

If you need an auto mechanic go south on Bailey and make a left on Seneca, you'll see Dave's Auto on the left at Seneca & Southside. It's a decent place and they're pretty honest.

Desi's is AWESOME. So is Guzzo's. When I lived there, it's all we ate, ha! I loved that I could walk everywhere and not get harassed.

During my time as a PC tech, when I was driving all over hell and creation, I stopped at Desi's a couple of times. Their sandwiches are AWESOME.

And, you are the third person to recommend Wiechec's... I think that'll be the first stop.

Where does everyone order pizza from there?

Well you lived there for a while so you probably found a lot. You get a really good fishfry at Ray's on Clinton & Pierce. Drive on Clinton to Harlem, make a left and on the right is Ricks's American Cafe, really good food, fishfrys, really good. Drive on Clinton, a little past Harlem and try the Deerhead Inn, really good roast beef, fishfrys, etc. If you Bowl, the Town Edge has been there forever and was remodeled a few years ago but still has its charm. Take a walk on South Ogden to the creek, look to the left and you will see Sandy Beach, right by the bend in the creek where American Indians once lived and sold to Ogden. Go into St. Casimir's on Casimir & Weimar Street and visit a fantastic church. You are also only a mile away from the Williams Street & Harlem neighborhood in Cheektowaga which is sort of a part of kaisertown, very similar.
