So I see an ad for this place 120 Cottage Street, #2, Buffalo, NY 14201

Then there is this ad

Allentown, Cottage St.

When I am shown the place, the guy doesn't have his gate keys and doesn't use keys to get in. He says ill have to pay a security deposit to the owner, but doesn't have applications right now. I would give him the check to the owner.

Basically my main worry is that the website for the lofts doesn't mention this guy and the other ads are kinda contradictory to the ad I contacted the guy off of.

http://www.cottagestreetlofts.com/main.html?src=%2F

On the other hand he seemed knowledgeable about the place and had other calls while I was there about the apartment. Also has a card he gave him which seems legit.

No keys to get in? No application? Seems a bit off-kilter if you ask me.

well it was unlocked to begin with. I looked him up on linkedin and he is listed as a real estate agent, the biggest worry is the no keys and the fact that he has a listing and there is a separate listing from the company that seems to manage the whole block. But of course I am leaving tomorrow, and am supposed to give him the check before I leave, and the company that manages isnt open on the weekends. It seems too hard for this guy to make this all up though. Like how would he know the place is open, etc.

The website has applications, unitsavailable and the phone # of the owners!! He could have gotten them. I think since they have a website, but also post it? I'd deal with the owner, thru the website, not anyone on any list or agency. Call the owner and ask to meet them at the unit.
