Has anyone tried to raise bison in Buffalo or its immediate area? (Ridge: farm)

The Buffalo zoo had a herd last I checked. You could even see them grazing from Delaware Park.

I know there is a "beefalo" farm outside of Buffalo in Attica, NY. Bennington Beefalo - LocalHarvest Those animals are a cross of cattle and bison.

By "immediate area" what do you mean exactly? Cattaraugus County?

There used to be a buffalo ranch outside of Ellicottville years ago, but I'm not sure if it's still there, and I can't remember it's name (searching "bison ranches" or "buffalo farms" isn't productive).

Maple Ridge Bison Ranch (Maple Ridge) is located in Hinsdale, NY, also Catt County.

Somebody had a few about 100 miles east, near Port Byron or Weedsport, I forget exactly where. I remember seeing them while working a railroad job... wow, almost 20 years ago now.
