My mother has Dementia problem (New York, York: house, living, activities)

My mother has dementia disease, me and my father, we both are working in different cities of New York. It's very difficult for both of us to care her. We are manage this situation by take off from our job. i also hired an assistant for her from Elderly Care Companies but she resigned from her job because of some issue in her family and now i am looking for an assistant that has minimum experience of 2 year.
it's very difficult time that is gone in my house and unbearable moment when she screamed out without any reason and fell down into the stairs (when my eyes took apart from her). It's very difficult situation for me to face out. Could you please give me suggestion how to treat with her? What will i do to feel her happy?

Thankful to all of you for your suggestion. Now the situation is in normal stage. She is fine now and we admit her in Tennysoncourt( a assisted living facility center). There they appoint an assistant for her and playing several activities for her entertainment purposes.
