Yes exactly. This is what most people in the buffalo forum have been trying to convey. Buffalo is experiencing a revival. Every city will always have their fair share of problems. Buffalo has been through the ringer and now is experiencing a lot of positive growth. I think many people ARE HAPPY about this!
How can you have a revival & growth when your still losing population ?
City of Buffalo has been losing population every single year for the last 40 years ?
Buffalo & Erie County are still losing population in 2015 census. see thread
In 2010 Business leaders said if the HSBC tower becomes vacant it's going
to devastate Buffalo's economy, well it's 6 years later and it's in vacant & bankruptcy
see above for links to the 2010 video
in 2007 Buffalo's Mayor Brown, said Buffalo doesn't have to get better because Buffalo is already happing and promised people that you don't have leave to find a good job. and to stop thinking of moving to places like Austin, Atlanta, Charlotte, and Houston because Buffalo is going to be just like them. Well it's 10 years later and Buffalo is in worst shape & lost more population
Yes, Buffalo and Erie County as a whole are still losing population, albeit slowly. Personally, if the developments in the city continue, I would be surprised if Buffalo declines in population between the 2010 and 2020 census. Hopefully we are done with the free fall that happened in the region fron 1970 to 2010.
I think people acknowledge the bad as well. People are happy there is finally some positive going on in the area.its not all bad. For me, the biggest things that were bad were the jobs and taxes. But that could be a lot of NY state.
