Surprised there's a single k-mart left in the US. Both K-mart & Sears have long been struggling & closing everywhere. I just hope Value City or Dollar City doesn't close in Buffalo, that would surely signal Buffalo's demise. Please keep us updated tanlegs.

The Sears store's in the Boulevard Mall & McKinley Mall are suppose to be closing after the Holidays too
Stores are closing all over the nation. Online shopping has really taken a toll.

There closing the poor performing stores, Not all. With WNY population's losses speeding every year
5,236 residents left WNY from 2014 to 2015 alone, you can figure at least another 5,236 residents
left from 2015 to 2016 and by the end 2016 WNY likely will have lost 15,000 to 20,000 in just 3 years is scary. there are too many stores, restaurant's, etc. for the shrinking tax base

Basically.....Here is the list of K-Mart stores closing: Here's where the 64 Kmart stores are closing

This includes Sears stores that closed, along with other K-Marts that closed earlier this year: 78 Sears, Kmart stores to close; see the list

This is a national phenomenon; not unique to Buffalo at all. K-Marts are closing from Sierra Vista, Arizona to Burlington, North Carolina, and both places are doing better than Buffalo in terms of population growth.

K-mart alone still has 1,524 stores. Also the Eastern Hills Mall gave up trying to fill all the vacant
stores , so they are going to tear 1/2 of it down and build some apartments, The Boulevard Mall
is also looking to downsize

It is also a military town due to the presence of Fort Huachuca as well. So, there are people with money in that community.
