It's funny what WNY's considers hell holes (which is everywhere but WNY) But anyways , The whole Southwest is Booming with billions & billions of dollars of private investment that's creating 1,000's & 1,000's of new jobs, that's why they are all exploding with population growth and the real hell hole (most people in the country call it a Sh*t Hole) doesn't have 1 dollar of private investment and is bleeding jobs & population for decades.

Excuse me, but there is a reason all but 2 members of my 50 member family still live in WNY. And no, they are not public employees.

There is also a reason that WNY lost 5,236 long term residents in just one year in the last census
and has been losing population every single year for the last 45 years.

Who cares if 100,000 jobs come to Vegas. It's 100 to 110 degrees four to five months/year, and it is a flat, brown, ugly, culture-free, and depressing desert.
Buffalo's not perfect, but there are real neighborhoods with beautiful houses (not just bland subdivisions and ugly strip malls), skiing, the Great Lakes and the Finger Lakes nearby, and the world-class city of Toronto 90 miles away. And there is green grass and beautiful trees.
Given similar job opportunities, I would move to Buffalo over Vegas in a second.
Then why is Las Vegas gaining population and getting billions and billions of dolllars of private investment
and Buffalo is losing population and has no private investment ?

I wouldn't touch you with a... 39-1/2 foot pole!

It could partially be due to retirees, immigrants from Latin America, college students, along with some coming for work in terms of Las Vegas. It has low taxes and land for investors to work with, but an example of the flip side is that Nevada public schools are not highly regarded in terms of standards.
Buffalo is starting to stabilize and is seeing some degree of mixed investment.
Many private investors get tax breaks or state investment for projects in most places, as that is the game nowadays.
City Data has losers in every state who just keep posting about how happy they are they have moved away from that state (or city). One guy has been posting for at least five years. Perhaps a psychiatrist can explain why there are people who find it necessary to do this.
Perhaps it has something to do with missing where you come from when you move to a hellhole like Las Vegas.
The first part of this post sums things up, as it seems like every state has a poster like this on city-data. It is almost as if they are allowed in order to feel balanced or in order to keep things going.
Yep, grinches exist in every city, every town, every forum. Here on the Buff CD forum, we are actually fortunate to currently have only 1 grinch. You have to consider the plus side, it can be very entertaining.
