Do you mind me asking what his position was there? A channel 2 report says that the accounts payable and finance dept. will be affected, which probably doesn't help the person who started this forum. I'm in engineering and have been checking their site every once in a while to see what pops up.
@Tamara0914: Well, keep trying. As you may know job hunting isn't fun. I've done it too many times and it seems to get more frustrating every time. Especially, when you're not in the area. What's your background in? Maybe I've seen postings related to your career field during my search. Perhaps I can tell you what companies I came across.
Have you tried looking at sodexo at all? They have corporate headquarters in Williamsville. I worked there for a few years. Back when I worked there, senior accountants made in the 48 to 56 range. The next two tiers up are accounting specialists and analysts. I'm not sure what they make but it is definitely more than seniors. It may not be exactly in your industry but it could be a good way to get you up there and making more than 40k. It is pretty frustrating that the salaries there in some fields is not in line with other cities, and on top of that there is a state income tax which takes another nice bite out of your paycheck. There is also bcbs dt, and I know they have financial analyst positions. No idea on salary. Don't give up. Something will come your way. It just takes a little longer there.
