We're getting pounded here. Grew up in the south towns and now living in niagara county. Never expected to see the amount here. Holy cow. Been out seven time with my shovel.
The southtowns have been spared from the worst. About 15 inches or so here
I haven't measured but my eyeball says my house is probably in the 8-10" range. no big deal.
this is nothing compared to the 30" I got in like 6 hours in January when everyone got stuck on the evening commute.
I'm very disappointed schools were cancelled for this little snow. The schools are all over reacting because they don't want kids getting stuck. All they had to do was read the forecasts of like .25 -.5 inches per hour of snow over a 2 day period. sure the grand total might end up 1-2 feet but on an hourly basis its no big deal and nothing people cannot keep up with. It's NOT lake effect. LAKE EFFECT is what gives us the 3-5" per hour! that's what jams everything up and that's when the plows cant keep up with snowfall rates. This is just a general synoptic snowfall that the rest of the country typically gets. its no big deal.

You must live right by the lake. Thats the only area under a foot. Try telling this isn't that bad to my aunt in Lockport with 30 inches of snow on her driveway. Most of that came in 1 inch an hour rates last night btw. I have yet to see my road plowed today. I think schools could have stayed open yesterday, but this am was just awful
