You're right. This isn't the wild West. If you understood history you would realize The wild West was relatively tame to modern day civilization.

In modern day America we have places like chicago, groups like ISIS, meth heads, MS 13, etc.. On top of it we have a federal government that gradually but steadily continues to erode our rights as it slowly morphs into a socialist totalitarian state (hopefully that has slowed down for a bit)

The problem you don't realize is the far left has no moral or logical arguments to make everything is based on emotion and when they have nothing to say they resort to just trying to shout down or shut down the other side for exchanging their ideas. With this mentality you guys will lose again in 2020.

Just because you don't like it doesn't mean it should go away. ALL Americans (even ones I don't like it disagree with) have a God given right to self defense and protection. This isn't given To us by government but a right guaranteed by government. As citizens we have a duty to do the right thing, to defend ourselves and those who are vulnerable or defenseless. We have a moral obligation to oppose tyranny.

You know what else? The 2nd amendment guarantees the 1st amendment.

It is a major local political issue.

Do you realize if an Erie county resident decided tomorrow they wanted a pistol permit to go through the entire legal process it takes on average 16 to 18 months from the day you decide to go for it? That's wrong and illegal.

Call 911 and see how long it takes for someone to come save you. I'll think it's funny. You won't. I'm the one that can defend myself.

So all of you why don't you take out your guns and just shoot one another and be done with it? There are other ways to defend yourself.

A bunch of macho do-do's with a excessive power complex. Grow up. Moderation is one thing, excess is another. Fictional beliefs can't and don't guarantee anything.

What's a matter your, illy white, gentrified 2nd ring suburb subdivision not as safe as you claim? Sounds major paranoia to me.

Out driving or walking (the little you do out there), you going to carry a gun, then pull it out the 1st time someone gives you a dirty look?

I don't think they ever thought it would pass muster in the courts. It's just the same ploy the grabbers have always used. It is a "law" until it's tossed out.

New York's entire handgun permitting scheme is tetering on the brink since the recent Wrenn decision in DC. The RKBA extends outside of the home and doesn't require government permission. Cuomo will learn that soon enough.
