Well, hopefully it's successful enough and the clause is never triggered. All the more reason to push solar energy.

Why depend so strongly on a resource that constantly gets us mired in foreign affairs and fills the pockets of countries that aren't particularly friendly towards us these days?

Why not go towards an energy source that can be a profitable export in skills and hardware and is less polluting?

Had we pushed for this early as in what could have been the Gore years, we'd have the market pretty much cornered at this point. Instead, we're sharing that market with China and several others. There's still time to get in on this though.
