This is in regards to this blog/outlet: https://buffalochronicle.com/

Could this be viewed as an alternative outlet?

No. Incidentally, site founder Matt Ricchiazzi once contacted me on FB to write for it. He is a semi-delusional (albeit smart--has an undergrad and graduate degree from Cornell) former Independent mayoral candidate who's grown seemingly more delusional in recent years. Buffalo Chronicle was a sad read when I investigated it upon being contacted a couple years back, and I assume it's probably lacking for fresh content these days--that'd be the best case. It seemed on the verge of perpetual/indefinite neglect back then.
