A few friends have told me it's not safe to walk at night near the convention center. Most of them also don't seem street smart. I'm not sure I'm necessarily street smart other. I wouldn't say I'm a tough guy either, but I probably have some grit and caution after prior experiences too.
Would you agree with not walking at night in general around the convention center area or within 2 miles in any direction from it?
Also, what are some places you would recommend trying near-ish the Convention Center (I can drive, but can only drive out after 6 PM basically)? I've done Anchor Bar, Duffy's before, Spot's Coffee, some so-so Italian place a few blocks from the center, and Jerk's Soda Fountain and ice cream.
I am not picky or allergic to any type of food.
Healthy and relatively inexpensive preferably but not absolute, and something I don't have to dress up for.
Also, looking for quick, local places. I know there's a breakfast place across from the Hyatt on Main St. open during the week too that I haven't tried.
