I'm looking for little-known, out of the way places to take pictures of and at, such as waterfalls, urban ruins, stuff like that. Know of something you'd be willing to share? I'd love to hear about it. Thanks.

Little known to most locals, or little known to people who don't know Buffalo? Is Bird Island Pier, Glen Falls, or the Wonder Bread building something too familiar?

Preferably both. I'm taking about places that don't even have names; just something cool and interesting you saw somewhere sometime that might make an interesting place to take pictures.

Some parts of town that are "hidden" in plain sight: Genesee Street from Bailey to Jefferson - sketchy or gap toothed, genuinely uncomfortable in some places, but some great churches and industrial (like the WO_DER _READ building) in various physical states. The older Black Rock areas from Tonawanda Street south of Hertel to the river are some of the oldest houses in the city, tucked away small streets, churches, RR buildings, etc. The old but still active in parts Clinton Bailey area "Ghost Town" of markets and industrial. Familiar but great possibilities along the Bird Island Pier or the Shoreline Trail starting below the Peace Bridge at Niagara and Busti. I also think that there are interesting mixes of homes and churches in Kaisertown (Clinton near the city line) and East Lovejoy neighborhoods with some good juxtaposition possibilities. The Scajaquada Creek areas inside Forest Lawn, along with the older hillier sections of the cemetary are known, but don't get a lot of visitors. I always liked the old Victorian and dense Lower West Side and Allentown neighborhoods just because there is such a variety of interesting older buildings and places tucked away off the beaten path.

There's this little waterfall in Elma that's really cool, located on a very non-main 'Main Street' near Transit. I am a lifer and just discovered it a few months ago. I do not know if it has a name
