ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. (WROC) — A source has confirmed to News 8 that the Bills are planning to build a new stadium in Orchard Park.
The new stadium will be open air, but with partial covering for fans in the stands. The entire project is expected to require 3-5 years start to finish.
While downtown Buffalo was likely a strong consideration, the cost of the project makes more sense to build in Orchard Park.
It’s possible the new facility could be ready for play as early as 2025, but 2026 or 2027 appear a more likely start date. The team still needs to obtain government approvals in a variety of areas, including funding. All of which could delay the timeline.
Whats the point of building another open air stadium in the same area? Downtown was the way to go IMHO, this is just same old, same old. Fix up the old one, if this is the best you can do.

My preference, if it's built in the Buffalo area would be Niagara Falls. I've heard in the past NF being discussed being an entertainment zone

I agree with a Downtown stadium. I’m thinking that it may be a matter of cost, but it would make sense to put the stadium Downtown, as development has increased in the city.
I also think it would be better from an economic standpoint for those in the city for employment and businesses in the city.
A downtown stadium would energize the city like nothing has done in the last 50 years, couple that with a new convention center and Buffalo will really have something to crow about. Another open air stadium in the same area as the current one in a place that really doesn't need it vs something for the long suffering city residents.
Orchard Park 97.9% White, 0.5% Black or African American, 0.2% Native American, 0.9% Asian,
Buffalo 47.1% White, 36.5% Black or African American, 12.3% Latino and 5.7% Asian
The Bills are finally on the move and among the favorites to win the Superbowl and the area needs to show itself in the best light possible. A domed downtown waterfront stadium that would invigorate the hospitality industry and put the city in line for a Superbowl host that would be a dream come true. Come on Buffalo do something different for a change. Buffalo is a lakefront city and putting the stadium on it would be fabulous. We treat one of the areas greatest resources like it doesn't exist.
