The team ranks 29th in value and if he moved the team that would surely rise depending on the new location. Goes to show what a favor he did Buffalo by buying the franchise and keeping it in Buffalo.

Again, what is the magical place the team would move to in order for this to occur? Especially given the fact that it has a large population to draw from now.

The Bills are 29th, I did not make that up. NYS and WNY are losing population. Almost anywhere would be an improvement as far as team valuation goes. Buffalo ranks 54th in TV market size. Check out this article. You will notice that the top markets have at least 1 team and many without teams are ahead of Buffalo.

Also, you know that the team has about 11 million people, give or take, to draw from within a couple of hours or so for games. What other franchise outside of say the NYC teams, the LA teams, Chicago and maybe a couple of other teams? To use media market, metro area, CSA is deceptive in terms of population proximity to the stadium. Especially the fact there is a substantial Canadian fan base with season tickets and it is a one game a week sport.

The NFL and its owners care about revenue. More affluent area = more revenue. Look at the cities above Buffalo in the TV market revenue. There are some attractive options there.

Again, what city would they move to? Given the proximity to a large population and one that has money on the Canadian side, why would the league want to get away from that market? This is considering that there is an attempt to go international with the game.
I think if there wasn’t a new stadium coming, there would be more validity to the moving claim, but even then, what are some identifiable cities/areas that come to mind? Even if people say Portland OR, San Antonio, Austin(good luck competing with UT Football), etc., those metro areas aren’t any different than combining the Buffalo and Rochester areas. Let alone the Canadian market nearby that make up a substantial season ticket base for the team and other nearby parts of NY and PA. Out of all of those, San Antonio makes the most sense due to proximity to Austin as well, but again, that is still only about 4-5 million people between the two versus the 7-9 million potential people from the Golden Horseshoe and the roughly 4 million or so within a reasonable drive on the US side. San Antonio doesn’t even have as high of an Average Annual Pay as the Buffalo area. So, that is something to consider as well.

Again, this thread is about the cost overruns and is getting sidetracked as usual. The Bills are extremely fortunate to have Terry Pegula as their savior. Only time will tell how the cost overruns are dealt with.

You mentioned relocation. That's how the thread got sidetracked.
if you are an owner of an NFL team, you are a billionaire. So, that can go for any franchise. With the overruns, it will be interesting to see if he foots that part of the bill.
