Hi everybody,
I am driving to Buffalo from NYC.
From what I can see and from what maps.google.com tells me, it gives me 2 ways to get their.
Both of tell me to take I-80, I-380 then I-81, but then in Binghamton it changes.
One way it is keep going North on I-81 untill Syracuse then take I-90 all the way to Buffalo.
The other way is in Binghamton change to I-86, I-390 take exit Geneseo Rd/ Geneseo Mount Morris Rd to take US-20A
What do you people think,
Question.
1. The fastest?
2. Best for Road Trip
3. Is there anything to see on US-20A?
4. Is there anything to see on I-90 or is like I-95 from Florida to NY, nothing to see?
5. What other way besides these two options would you advise for a roadtrip?
I personally enjoy the Binghamton exchange that takes 20A all the way to downtown Buffalo. Its hills and and country setting provide a nice, leisurely and relaxing drive with little traffic. Dont take I-90, its as boring as it gets

1. The fastest is taking 81 up to the Thruway
2. The route taking 20A is definitely the more scenic of the 2.
3. Geneseo and Warsaw are very quaint little towns
4. Pretty flat and boring, you wouldn't be missing much
5. You really could go a bunch of different ways, but it depends on how much time you have.
I'm surprised it didn't say to take Route 17, which is I-86 once you are in the Binghamton area. That's a nice, scenic route too. I heard Roscoe has a nice diner in that area too.
Another question,
Lunch, in which little town should I stop for lunch, which diner or rest?
I can't think of anything along 20A in particular, but if you were to take 20 instead, there's a place in Avon called Tom Wahl's, that makes its own root beer and makes a good burger and fried mushrooms. Here's their website: http://www.tomwahls.com/

So, you can't go through the city or Jersey to get to Route 17?
Yes, I can but your question why not Route 17, that is because google just give me the fastest way, if I start from the Bronx then it tells me to take that one.
Also going that way (north) and throught the city or Jersey will be crazy with traffic.
