So I'm sitting at my desk looking outside (man, I should get back to work) and seeing snow falling in April kinda turns my stomach. So this got me thinking...what is the latest you have seen snow in WNY? Now I'm not talking about the ice mountains in parking lots, but honest to goodness snowfall.
On a weekday, in 1974, I think, it snowed in Rochester on May 1st. Possibly 1975.
I was still living at home, and my parents and brother were in the car when we slid through an icy intersection, and then the car behind us smashed into us. Knocked the knit cap right off my head. I ended up going to the hospital after getting on a bus to go to work downtown because I was feeling nauseous.
I want it -- or at least 40/50 degree weather tomorrow 7/29.... say a prayer for me on that one, will you all? Have to be outside int heheat and it is killing me.

I was there and 15 years old. In Marion , New York July 4th 1972 it snowed for about 3 minutes somewhere between 3 and 7 pm. I remember that summer well, as my mom had sent me to stay with an elderly aunt "Upstate" New York. I was sitting in her car just to get out the house for a bit because she was afraid for me to go anywhere and make friends in the neighborhood. I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw the flurries. When I ran in the house to tell her, she acted like that was normal.
My memory of specific dates isn't that great. I do remember cool memorial days, and occasional hail, but last snow that I can recollect would be mid to late April.
Last thing on my mind thinking about that. Gee enjoy the nice weather
