Part of the Tri-Main complex was taken over by Bell Aircraft during WW II, as they were working on a top secret project.

Their first jet engine.

Gould couplers were invented in Buffalo (Depew), and made their. They were the first rail car couplers to be considered truly "safe".

An interesting fact here: Frank lloyd Wright built the Larking Office Building ( foolishly torn down int he 1950s ) so that it vented air and basically was air-cooled. Sadly, that is one building it would be a gem to have.
