I don't believe in hauntings or anything, but that's what people say. I have heard that they were doing renovations, but I'm not 100% sure that that's the reason for the fence because I know that people break into that building all the time (through the basement). They even installed a security system because people were vandalizing it all the time. Same with Central Terminal.
Is anyone planning to use that space i.e for apartments and condos or anything? Its proximity to the Elmwood Village should make it a prime spot.
I just have a feeling that it more likely be a museum or something. I think that many might have a problem with sleeping in the room where lobotomies were performed.
I dont think anyone would want to live next to a psych center to tell you the truth, especially if they hear that the old one is or was haunted.
I would honestly be more afraid of getting shot in that area than a ghost...

A successful lawsuit filed by the Preservation Coalition of Erie County (renamed Preservation Buffalo Niagara in October 2008) forced the State of New York to commit $100 million to its rehabilitation. As a result, the State established the Richardson Center Corporation to rehabilitate the complex. Their workers have installed a fence surrounding the perimeter of the complex and have sealed or fenced all ground-level entrances to the complex, to protect it from vandals. A highly trained Peace Officer is on duty at all times to conduct regular patrols of the area to prevent and deter crime. Local volunteers maintain spotlights on the central towers, providing dramatic illumination at night.
it's a gorgeous building..we used to run over there during our lunch breaks from school 52 when I was a kid to see if a crazy person came to the window..
We drove past it and I took some photos, it's an amazing building but I'm going to have to agree that I probably couldn't live somewhere so much trama happened. I do know they offer tours of the outside too.
