As the name says. Is there anything on Main or Hertel close to the campus? Google didn't find much. They all seem to be located near the north campus.

Hotels don't often set up shop in residential areas away from major highways. You might find one or two if you're lucky.

There are plenty downtown and in Elmwood Village. From there you can take the Metro Rail towards University. UB South Campus will be the last stop.

Why are you look at UB South? There are plenty right between the North and South campus which are nice and reasonable. The driving distance from North to South campus is only 10 minutes or so, and it's all down one street.

There's a Marriot, Days Inn, Ramada, and other hotels near North campus, they are probably the closest.

There are zero hotels in the Elmwood Village area. They tried to build one a couple of years ago but as usual the NIMBY's killed the idea. So we are left with four empty houses turned into vacant store fronts by Buff State. The hotels by UB North are much closer timewise to UB South than any of the downtown hotels would be.

If you stay downtown, there is a nice Hampton in on Delaware, and a brand new Embassy Suites right next door. Both are very nice hotels, and are just a couple blocks walk from the metrorail which will get you to UB South.

Otherwise, any of the hotels by North Campus would be sufficient too.

We are visiting some friends and we will be drinking. Trying to find something withing walking distance of the UB south or the metro.

There is a place downtown right on Main by a train stop. I think it is a Comfor Suites, it has a Friday's on the first floor. I stayed there once about 10 years ag, it was new at the time and very nice.

Well the train stops running early, there are no good hotels near UB South. You can get a cab very easily from the bars though... They are fairly reasonable here as long as you aren't completely drunk you probably won't get taken.

In other words, there aren't hotels near UB South.

The last inbound train towards downtown leaves the UB station at 12:30 am
