Not that I would put Buffalo on the top of my list of places to move. But Las Vegas I would have to put at the absolute rockbottom. Enjoy your 110-degree summers, crashing real estate values, and monotonous casinos, VegasRocks.

Many other options exist at local colleges too, check all the SUNY websites for job openings. There are plenty of options but you need to know where to look, check their individual websites instead of looking at monster, etc.

I am from Buffalo area (21 years) and have lived in Raleigh, NC for 3 years...

I love the weather in Raleigh and the mountains/beach within a short drive, but you cannot beat the nightlife and the people or the concerts and events in Buffalo.

My wife and I are moving back in Mid January - mabye we'll pick up some seasons tickets for the Buffalo Bills next year.

I just moved to Raleigh in July. You couldn't pay me to move back to Buffalo.

BTW, Eric Clapton is performing at the RBC in March. I had to go all the way to Toronto to see him the last time he toured!

For the OP, as someone who worked in the academic field, there have been some serious cut-backs in the higher education sector, including SUNY.

Or the fact you could go to Toronto and see him could be seen as a plus too. Once you leave Raleigh, besides maybe the Tidewater area of VA and Charlotte, you are pretty much far from any other major cities.

My wife and I are trying to make a move up there from Maryland. I wont miss the traffic or the extremely high cost of living down here.

Actually, TWC was mainly broadcasting from East Aurora & the Southtowns, Buffalo hardly got enough snow to even call it a storm.
