I need pictures especially from the 1930, 1940 , 1950's - during the wars, etc. Pictures of the old park lane, statler, sheas, lafayette, brisbane, kleinhans, downtown, elmwood, interiors of the lobbies, some street scene, army guys dancing, etc...thanks! any websites dedicated to old Buffalo from this period or books that address that time period? Much appreciated - been googling to no avail so far...cheers! 12buttons

Go to the Downtown Library and also SUNY library. Try the Buffalo News from the timeperiod -- if you can access it.

Years ago I remember having some color postcards from the 1960s of City Hall before it was sand blasted. I think they sand blasted City Hall in the early to mid 1970s. Most of the building was black, or at least very dark brown, due to air pollution from Buffalo's booming industries back then.

Does anyone know of any local antique or book stores that specialize in old Buffalo -1910-1945 iconography?
