Anywhere to sit and eat with a view of the canal or river? The only places I can find are burger joints or fast food...

If there isn't I would be shocked, you would think areas along the canal or river would be thriving with restaurants...but I can't seem to find any...

I'm thinking Tonawanda or Lockport area

Shanghai Red's is a popular spot. It's at the Erie Basin Marina, Downtown Buffalo.

Hi Donbuy,

I used to live around and work in Lockport (15 years ago...). Just curious, where is Tom's Diner, or what used to be there?? Thanks

I'm fairly new to WNY and do not know what used to be there. It is right on Main Street, on the North Side, On the same block as Scirto's Jewelers. It looks like they are occupying what used to be two storefronts.

Here is a link to a picture:

There is Harry's in Buffalo too. Right on the river off of Niagara street, near the Tonawanda plant. It's a fancy, sort of pricey place however.

Where is Ship N Shore? Garlocks is pretty run down looking both inside and out - especially considering the prices they charge. You can't actually see the canal from there.

Head south on Transit from Lockport, turn right on the Tonawanda Creek RD before the First Niagara office building, head all the way down to the canal, it is on the left. There are many Tonawanda Creek RDs, don't go to far on Transit.
