Years ago I used to order blouses on-line that would arrive with a lovely individually wrapped chocolate in every box. It would not have prompted me to buy the blouse, but it did get mentioned positively in all their customer feedback. Sort of: "Well packaged, lovely product, and what a nice surprise, arrived with a chocolate which I enjoyed".
Unfortunately, they went out of business and I really miss those blouses. They have lasted forever and I still get compliments every time I wear one. Note: the quality product was why I was buying, not the gift chocolate.
We have had the best response from these little flip out magnifying lenses with an LED light on it. Its a pretty bulky item, maybe the size of a snickers bar, half the length. Our customers ATE them up and asked for more. It is the only giveaway we've had requests for more of. Our supplier was closing them out, so we bought 2,000 more.
USB drives are good too. They are expensive, but the best design is the Kingston Data Traveler ( i have a DTSE9). They are metal, so they are tough, and there is no cap to lose, or slide out function to break. Best usb design ever.
Of course pens, and post its for office people who buy from you. Magnetic business card for industrial environments. Also, those little pocket screwdrivers with a magnet on the back end are awesome for industrial environments.
