If you have a deadline and are worried about making it, do you think positive thinking will make you work more efficiently and meet the deadline?

Absolutely.

If you think negatively, you've already failed. You'll say, "oh, I am already behind, why bother trying to meet the deadline?" Its a downward spiral from that point on.

Usually when I am working on a project I always think of the benefits it will provide my clients, as well as how much money I will make if my product becomes successful. Positive attitude and action is the key to success in almost every aspect of life from working, entrepreneurship, and social life.

Even if you don't meet the deadline, at least you'll know you gave it your best and tried your hardest!

It can't hurt but it won't help unless you actually do the work you need to.

Usually... though if your deadline depends on deliverables from others and they can't/won't do the work, your positive thinking may have no effect.

I will say that I am a very positive thinker and also do my best work in high-pressure/tight deadline situations, so I do believe I work more efficiently with that added pressure. Though some types of people may become incapacitated by the stress and may not perform well at all. I guess it depends on the personality type.

Positive thinking + effective action = SUCCESS

Positive thinking + twiddling your thumbs = stagnation

Time management is the key to making deadlines. In truth, making deadlines depends on a number of factors. It could be:

- Not getting details/equipment/information from others when it's needed
- Unforeseen events that make it difficult to acquire the needed information
- Slackness/poor time management

Positive thinking can help a lot, especially if one has to meet a tight deadline and does not have all necessary resources to meet it. But that in itself will not make one meet the deadline.
