i bought a gift card from craigslist, we me at the store and checked the balance and the seller bought a new gift card using his gift card, I paid him cash.

I noted down his Craigslist Ad and also his phone number.

Now I am worried, what if he sold me a stolen Gift card.

Please suggest what can i do ?

Nothing you can do now. Just go try to use the card and see if it works. If it doesn't work or was stolen, not sure what you can do.

Cash for merchandise is basic standard on Craigs List. I wouldn't do tickets, gift cards, or anything else I can't hold in my hand and see the product itself. Too much risk, too many crooks using CL to steal.

I have already used the card, and it worked, so there is no problem from that point of view, still I am worried, what if it was a stolen card
