Most of it makes sense with the exception of the flocking to the cities. We still see a trend toward infilling of suburban areas within a reasonable commute to the work centers, and more importantly, large employers moving to the suburbs closer to where people live.
The only areas suffering from loss of population are those that were considered rural where developers overbuilt suburban tracts, that are now full of underwater owners and foreclosures. Those may ever gain popularity again because of the ever increasing commute cost.

I wonder who is going to be growing our food? Centralizing people, taking away their independence and fostering dependence on such things as public transportation, food supply, etc., is a good way to control the population.
Not a pleasant prospect in my opinion.

Well, look at the productivity change from using horses to tractors. It takes alot less farmers when more machinery is used, it also means alot less jobs in rural areas.
People always follow the jobs, over the next 30 years they're following them to cities.
You know they are probably just trying to sell us some trends right? If it is coming from the chairman and CEO of a corp like Coca Cola, lots of people will eat it up anything and everything they say like it is the Ten Commandments just because it is coming from a guy that high up. And I am pretty sure they know it too.
I do believe that people will live in cities more.
Energy is the reason why.
Gasoline for your car will eventually become
so expensive, everyone will have to use public transportation
to get around.
It is also becoming depleted.
Look at the drilling off the coast of Louisianna, they are
drilling down deeper than they really know how to, they
only do this when we are running out.
