South America is such a broad statement. That's like saying in Europe or Asia. There is money to be made though in emerging markets.

Some companies (like P&G) have one person that they use as a contact for wholesale purchasing. Nevermind trying to get in contact with someone, some places return your call after 2 or 3 weeks. Is this the real reason why our economy is going down? No one wants to sell their products.

They are only going to deal with you if you buy in large volumes,
and with your money being paid in full up front.

For years the government has been trying to discourage small businesses. It costs the government more money to keep track and maintain records on small businesses than the small amount of money they get from them. The government only wants to deal with businesses that pay in large amounts of fees. IMO

Freebird,
I haven't found it hard at all to get a distributor to take my money.
You offer no real facts in your question.
I think you just need some guidance, so mabey contact the SBA
in your area for some free advise, I am sure they will help you.
I wish I could help, but I don't have enough facts.

After about 50 years of business in Missouri, I ordered one of the SBA's information packets and there was no way I could comply with the regulations. My bank was much easier to work with than SBA when I needed loan money even after my bank had been "Dumb down" over the years. My continual increase of cost of operation was due to the assistance of the Deptartment of Natural Resources, Environmental Protection Agency, Missouri Division of Weights & Measures, Missouri Department of Sales Tax, U. S. Army Corp. of Engineers, Insurance Companies, and Democrat and Republican parties. All of these extra costs hampered my profits and reduced the amount of tax I paid to pay all of their salaries. They should be smart enough to see that but unfortnaturally not.
While one political party allows the public to vote on things, the other party is a forceful party that forces rules and regulations on you.
I am sure glad I am no longer a business person in the USA.

I agree with you PureHapa. Thats the first thing I learned in my High school in my economic class that its the easiest to open a business in the USA. Unlike other countries its impossible to do so.

This past summer Obama and Elizabeth Warren said that small business people "you didn't build that". They were referring to their businesses so it must be the government that helps people build businesses.
Contact government lol, they build everyone's business.
