My husband and I own and operate a small business. We have *one* employee. The employee uses a pre-paid credit card and would like us to put her pay on this card via direct deposit to save her $4.95 fee if she loads the money on her card. I am perfectly happy to do this, but the bank that we use for our business account charges $15 per month plus .25 per transaction for this service. It would make more sense for us to simply give her the $4.95 than to pay $15.25 to direct deposit her check.

I have called around to different banks in the area and there are very few who offer this service at all , I am thinking that perhaps there might be an on-line bank that would provide this as a free (or almost free) service to it's customers. I have looked around, but in each case, I have had to call the bank to ask this question, as it was not addressed on the website. This is getting time consuming.

Does anyone here know of a bank or online-bank that would provide direct deposit services for a very low fee or for no fee? Any information is gratefully appreciated.

You can't just tell her to grow up and become a "big girl" and get a real checking account?

Seriously though, I guess nobody has suggestions and I am not help either. I would just pay the $4.95 extra. What a good boss for you to do this for her.

Have them get an account with YOUR bank then do a transfer...
or pay your employee with cash.
