I know of people and I've read on this forum how people work 18 hours a day or over 100 hours a week starting businesses,etc...
I wonder where do you have time to take care of your health in terms of fitness and nutrition. Too me, there is no way any amount of money is worth neglecting your health.

At the height of the business I owned, in the 90s, I worked some all-nighters and regularly
11 hours a day, but still managed to coach a kids soccer team, take hikes, and have decent meals. There are 24 hours in a day, and I only need to sleep 7 of those, so that left 6 free.
If your business is taking 18 hours a day it's time to hire help. Eventually I got good employees and cut my hours back to about 8-9.
It would be foolish to ignore your health, but working 18 hours a day isn't going to hurt anyone. Work wont kill you, although some people clearly think it will.
If you can't get the business going well enough to hire employees in a fairly short time period, your business idea isn't working.

18 hours won't kill you....uh what.
If you did work 18 hours that means you have 6 hours to sleep not counting eat, using bathroom, showering or anything else.
Sure 5 months working 18 hours might not kill you,but for years on end it certainly can. If your not sleeping enough you start to get sick after awhile, or too tired to drive. Imagine falling asleep with a semi coming straight at you....your dead. Your health will suffer since your probably not eating correctly. It wil definitely over many years kill you or *********r health up beyond fixing.

Most people do..for 10 or 12 hrs a day..that's called survival or earning a living.
Now, after you earned X dollars and if you continue to do so then on your own peril but until then it's a grind.
Plenty of folks putting in long hours and making a living. Hard work will not kill anyone, look at those guys in the new oil boom in Williston. They are sleeping in their cars at Walmart, showering in McDonald's bathrooms but everyone is making great money.
You will beat up your body doing hard physical labor no one mentioned what type of job the OP was thinking of. In theory a guy working 2 8 hour shifts a day is working 16 hours a day. If he was a nursing home attendant and then a security guard then that wouldn't be the same as a construction/oil rig job.
The upside is you won't have much time to spend your paychecks!

What about a farmer, never leaves his farm but puts in 18 hours a day and still eats 3 meals a day?
A farmer can walk inside his home or just stand there if he wants to rest. He isn't "on the clock" for 18 hours a day.
So the guy that takes his head off the pillow at 4am and puts it back at 10 pm at the farm would consider his work day easy? Even a paid employee gets time for eating, breaks so I don't understand your point?
I would be willing to bet that farmer considers his day an 18 hour day, not 15 hours, 47 minutes and 32 seconds.
