I want to lease space at several locations and then install video cameras to video high accident intersections. I would then sell the video to accident attorneys. Spoke to an attorney quite awhile back and he definitely like the idea.I will be operating in Ks and Mo. The attorney said for every one you will sell then the other attorney will need to purchase one also and then i can also charge a fee as a witness because i am the one handling the video equipment.

Thought or Opinions?

Thanks

Don't get hurt checking your cameras.

Short term, it might be a viable business model. With more cars having black boxes and dash cams, I don't see a big future in it.

I work for a Healthcare System. We have 2 hospital campuses with cameras all over the place, in parking area, monitoring the campus, inside the building, at our medical buildings. We also have a clinic system with clinics all over the county in 12 locations. All of those places have cameras in the area. Our cameras send the signal to a computer system that we can monitor and is also picked up by our alarm company when needed. I can check the cameras at any of our facilities at home if I want. When needed our video has been used by law enforcement to help solve crimes. We have used it as well. Had a guy that wanted us to replace his damaged laptop. He said that we dropped it. Our footage clearly shows him dropping it when he was passing it off to a friend. We have used the video to take pictures of individuals that were causing problems on our property. So much benefits to having cameras on site. Many business owners allready have cameras and the footage is used by lawers, law enforcement, and others for free. Even the cable company offers this as part of a home security system in our area.

As far as traffic areas, major intersections in our area have cameras in place that can be used for court cases if needed. Also the red light cameras are filming intersections and not so much taking pictures as they did in the past.

Maybe a better plan is to offer to maintain or install systems for others.

How many locations would you have to install to break-even?
