I'm looking at interviewing for a company, listed as started over 10 years ago. They raised between 50-70 million in venture capital. They raised 20 million as soon a 2010. They are still borrowing money as well. Talked about how they got a line of credit of a couple million dollars this year.
Is this considered a "startup". I'm not sure when I consider this company if I should consider it an inherently unstable situation like many startups are, or if I should consider it on the same level as other smaller companies. I really have little knowledge of working with startups.

10 years in is not a startup.

And still borrowing millions? I would take a long hard look at the place.

They make a medical device(one that can cause harm to the patient) so they have spent alot of time dealing with the FDA(and they have devices approved) but I'm still hesitant.

If this is your only job opportunity and your unemployed take it. If you have a job and their offering 5k more to work there....pass on it. Do what your gut says.

So basically one REJECTED stamp from the FDA can sink the company. Sounds like a high-risk, high-reward situation to me. Too close to call. What does your gut tell you?

They do have an approved device, but are waiting for more. I am still in the early stages(just had a phone screen) but I would need more info about the company to really make a decision(hard numbers, it's private so there isn't much more on the internet than what I've said). I"m leaning no though
Also check your PM for more details.
Thanks!
