.

Paypal website shows I can accept payments through them. Read people have had issues using Pay-pal to make a payments through credit cards.

Creating a "BUY NOW" website, need assurance payments are processed smoothly.

Can some recommend a service to except card credits?

Thks

This is one

For Business ? Google Wallet

There are some others too if you google 'alternatives to paypal"

A lot of people use paypal though, of course some people will have issues with it...but doesn't mean you shouldn't use them. Any large service will have people that are complaining about it.

The best way is to get it through a bank, but you will need to have a legitimate business license, business checking account, and prove through their software that your computer is secure. Then you can either rent or buy a swipe machine to take payments by phone or in person at your location, if needed. For internet sales only they will charge more. I have had both a bank system and PayPal on my website to be able to serve more customers which cost more but then it's a tax deductible business expense and you just add it into the overhead on your sales prices.

Authorize.Net is the 800lb gorilla when it comes to online processing for a traditional merchant account. They're just the gateway (the system your shopping cart connects to) - they don't provide the actual card processing. For that, you'd use a bank or other merchant account provider.

Shop around for the best discount rates. Your bank is a good place to start, but they probably won't be cheap. Look for hidden charges/fees - a lot of providers offer great discount rates, but they have all kinds of hidden fees, or their monthly charge is insane.

i use paypal for my merchant processing. mainlly because my industry is very tough to get credit card processors to work with you but i really do like paypal. its a recognized and trusted name and many people are freaked out about putting credit card info on line but the trust that comes with paypal is important to buyers. not only in terms of they know who's handling their data but they also have paypal buyer protection in additiona to the ability to do a cc chargeback.

also there's a couple diff ways to take pp as payment. with a regular paypal account you can take credit cad but you can aslo sign up for a paypal virtual terminal program which is seperate from actual paypal. i know you can take cc over the phone and through your phone, not sure if you can setup buttons for it for sites though, i been meaning to look into that.

if your only issue is hearing of other peoples problems i can tell you ive done over 250k in sales on my site every month for the past 3 months using paypal and have had zero issues with pp nor have my customers.

Thanks for the responses, I was at my bank yesterday and asked them. Surprised to hear, "it's cheaper if you do it own your own"....

Checked out Authorize.Net - see what you mean about the 800lb gorilla... (offering CC processing, not accepting CC's payments)

Hemlock - thanks for the advice, already have business checking connected to my limited liability corporation, with subsidiary (daughter) companies. Tax deductions are my way of life...

Looking at Google, their specialty is search engines.

DM as I said in my first post, many people had issues with them. Originally was setting up Paypal to handle everything, after I seeing the negative reviews, changed my mind to look for different programs. Reading what you said, going to set them up.

Again thanks...
