Anyone here ready to give up on finding people who want to do some real work?

No... I have a couple of people working for me right now on a side project.

My thought is that you can find someone to work... depends on the price you want to pay.

It's a real problem for many of the people I know who need to hire. The world is full of people who want a paycheck but don't want a job. They get hired and settle in to waste a lot of energy finding ways to get out of doing the work that they are being paid to do.

Some of these employers are paying big money and there is no problem finding lots of people who want that big paycheck. Then the battle commences, trying to squeeze some work out of them.

Wow... some of the people you know need to learn how to hire properly and setting up proper management of those resources.

I need one person and I am having a wee bit of trouble finding someone myself.
I will find them eventually but I really prefer sooner than later.

Giving up finding workers is the same as finding good bosses. Works both ways. There are good and bad for both sides of the line. Bosses get too picky trying to find that one perfect employee and as a result skipped on the perfect person for stupid reasons such as: age, race, too good looking, bad looking, too much experience, not enough experience, the salary expected, the salary accepted. Etc, etc. Too many times bosses are caught chasing their tail and they pay for it at the end.

Just finding people who give a $hit would help!

Give them something to give a $hit for... like good pay. I know that does not always work, but it is a start. Being selective in the hiring process works as well.

^^ Pretty much.

You get what you pay for, so you will have to at least match the market value for compensation. There's no shortage of labor right now, so if you aren't finding employees there is a reason for that, depending on the skillset needed anyway.
