I recently became a medicaid provider under my home care business. I have been trying to find ways to market to this population. I have been in touch with the deparment of social services and they say that I will be put on a list and the member has the choice to pull from that list. I know there has to be a better way to market to get my agency name out there to this population. Any assistance on helping me market would be greatly appreciated!!

You need to get on the referral lists that the nurse social workers give out to family when they have an elderly/handicapped patient in after an incident such as falling. We paid one of them $250 to find an adult family home for an elderly relative on medicaid. She gave us 3 recommendations to visit and select from after she checked them out. I know we would never have selected a provider (for home care or residential) from any kind of advertisement. Most hospitals have a list of nurse social workers, you can acquire those from local hospitals and contact them. You will have to convince them of your ability and reliability to get considered for referrals, and have good references. Word of mouth also works, we have sent several others to the place we used over the 12 years she was there.
