Any recommendations on health insurance for a one man shop? I guess the start should be COBRA for the first six months but what do you do after that?

Go to your local Obamacare website and get an idea of the cost of High Deductible HSA plans.
Ask your friends.
Pick Kaiser.

Talk to an ACA Navigator.

If you're a member of a professional organization, you may be able to buy health insurance through them.

When I did that, (NFIB) it cost me $700/month for a family of 5, and that was back in the late 90s. Fortunately my wife eventually got a job with medical benefits. Be careful, if you are a new business and based on income qualify for subsidies, you may have to pay them back if you have a good year and end up making more when you do the taxes.
