IT consulting firm, I just need some insurance to satisfy a client's requirements. Any companies you recommend? I did get a quote from Hiscox.com" that was about @350 / year. Is that about as good as I can do?

That seems like a huge bargain, if it provides the level of liability coverage that you need. I was paying $1,300/year and that was after a lot of shopping around. It was 1 million liability, but also coverage on my equipment and supplies. I had only two claims in 16 years, one water damage from my landlord's roof leak, another from an employee damaging paint on a customer's van when installing lettering. For regulars where we did installation at customer properties we were also required to name them as an additional insured.
I wouldn't worry about the cost and would tag it on to the customer along with a fee. Realistically, a consulting firm should have boilerplate that would cover just about all contingencies, releasing them from liability. If a customer wants to increase your cost of doing business, it is only right to repay the favor.
