Thanks so much for this thread.....it's given me yet another idea for truly seasonal employment IF I want VERY limited work after I retire. I have a few other seasonal work ideas, but never thought of pop up stores.

I don't think I've ever seen (or maybe never noticed) the name "Spirit store" on the Halloween pop ups near me. Heck, I think the ones I've seen just say "halloween store" or "get your costumes here."

A Halloween pop up store will be coming to Redlands, ca next month.

I don't know about the Halloween stores. I'm pretty sure that our local "Halloween" store is a party supply store that does a lot of advertising for Halloween decorations, but they are open all year round. There is pretty solid stream of holidays in the USA.

The Christmas trees, many of them are social clubs or charities: boy scouts, elks, that sort of group. The others are people who have summer jobs. Roofers and construction workers have things slow in winter, so they have time to sell trees.

I only know one person who sells fireworks and he makes a bundle of money. But he also has other businesses that he is running the rest of the year.
