How does one go about selling his/her ownership of a business

Are you allowed to do that if it is an S-corp, LLC, or sole prop?

is the an official public exchange like the NYSE for Stocks, but for private business?

How do you go about pricing your shares?

I do not mean sell the whole business, but just the percentage someone owns of it.

Get the professional expertise of an accountant and a lawyer... the accountant will establish the proper/defendable value and the lawyer will protect your interests in the partial sale.

if doing a complete sale might want to utilize the services of a professional business broker in addition to the above two.

If the size is large enough there are accountants that are also Certifieid Business Valuation in addition to their CPA
