I wish they would raise it more, so we'd stop getting so much junk mail. I can't remember the last time we actually used a stamp, if I need one I'd gladly pay a dollar if it means less recycling work.

The junk mailers don't pay that rate, they get a sweetheart deal. And business mailers don't boy Forever stamps, they meter their mail.

When they USPS says "Forever Stamp" they are referring to the first ounce First Class envelope price. Price increases on standard first class is the same be it denomination specific stamps, forever stamps, meted mail or permit.

However, not all classes of mail saw an increase. Example, although the first ounce standard first class (commonly called the forever stamp) envelope price increased, the additional per ounce charge went down.

I updated our meter at work and our metered amount changed from $.47 to $.50.
