If the Board of Directors of a corporation or the commissioners of a government agency are generally divided 3-2, 4-3, 5-4 etc., on most decisions and ideologically, is that healthy and productive for the organization or agency vs unanimous decisions? If a member of the Board or commission who is on the losing side of issues complained how most decisions are decided the figures above, what would you make of that person's criticism? Is it better for a Board or commission and they people they serve if decisions are unanimous?

Did you not know that CD has a business forum? I think the Business forum is the correct forum you need for that question. It has other similar types of questions and answers there: //www.city-data.com/forum/business/
.

Seems more appropriate for this forum as it's dealing with non-romantic (i.e. social and business) relationships instead of how to best minimize cost and maximize profit.

Why can't some people handle being on the losing end of a 3-2, 4-3 etc., decisions and would prefer group think or unanimity?
