Anyone hired people from either Upwork or Fiverr? What's your experience?

Yes. I actually hired an illustrator on Fiverr to work on a project that had a unbelievably low budget.

It wasn't bad.

I've hired a number of people on Fiverr. Only a few didn't work out. I usually hire one at a time to remove backgrounds on photographs. Then something happens -- they get a real job or something -- and I have to find a new Fiverr guy.

The cost is so low that it's really not much of a risk.

I hired a social media person from Upwork and she did a good job. Once the project was done I've since renewed for six more months. We'll see if she remains consistent.
