Seems to me the business is simple enough for me to start a shop on my own, rather than joining a franchise. But then 4. I have zero experience in this product or business, 5. other than I often buy frozen yogurt when I was in college, and I love the product myself.

Any thoughts about this business? 6. Where can I get the machines and the flavoring ingredients, 7. which seems the only unknown part...

1. Owning your own business is never something that is easy to do.

2. New businesses often do not make money immediately. Many do not make money for years.

3. Regardless of what type of food product your business provides the public, there are plentiful regulations and frequent health inspections required. Everyone doesn't love frozen yogurt.

4. Not necessarily a recipe for failure, but new business owners (particularly those who are successful new business owners) usually know something about the product or service they provide. They can learn the structural necessities of how to run a business. The personality traits of those who run successful businesses cannot be learned. Do a search if unsure what those traits are.

5. You loving a product is a good start, but does not necessarily translate into your market also loving that same product

6. Start with Google. Pick the brains of any similar business owner in your area/region.

7. You don't know what you don't know. Which is a whole lot. Visit a small business development center and have a long talk with someone who can give you insight into what you don't know.

Get into a field which is not so crowded and ask yourself why>
Is it because its goods and service are not in demand or is it too difficult ?
How about aerospace after market ?

Eeeek frozen yogurt... Amongst the ice cream, frozen custard, smoothie, pink berry sea of sameness. Best of luck!
